Dagestani truckers still intend to move to Moscow
Truck drivers still continue standing near Khasavyurt. They are waiting for the official response of the authorities to their protest action.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Russian truck drivers are holding the mass protest action against the system "Platon", introduced on November 15 to collect tolls from trucks for the use of federal highways. On November 19, Sergey Voloschuk, Deputy Chairman of the interregional truckers' union, reported that in Dagestan, the protest action was supported by 17,000 people.
As of December 2, in Khasavyurt, drivers of 150-200 trucks continue striking, reports one of the protesters. "In case if nothing changes until December 3, we will make another attempt to join the protest action in Moscow," the truck driver has added.
At present, at least 100 truck drivers from Dagestan are in Moscow. This was stated by Magomed, another participant of the protest action in Khasavyurt. According to him, the situation at the place where trucks on strike are parked in Khasavyurt is quiet.
