IS shows execution of Chechen spy from Adygea
The organization "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia, has released a video, which showed an execution of the man, introduced as a native of Grozny, who allegedly collaborated with Russian secret services. Besides, the video also voiced threats to the authorities and residents of the Russian Federation.
On December 2, the video material was published by SITE Intelligence Group, a non-commercial organization, which monitors the activity of terrorist groupings on the Internet. "A Russian-speaking fighter of the 'Islamic State' has beheaded an alleged Russian spy in the city of Ar-Raqqah in Syria and threatened Russia with attacks of the IS," the website of SITE Intelligence Group reports.
In the video, a Russian-speaking man introduced himself as a native of Chechnya and described how he had been recruited by secret services in the summer of 2014 in Maikop and how he stayed in Syria and Iraq. Prior to the execution, the IS fighter armed with a knife said that the Russian air strikes to the positions of the militants in Syria gave additional confidence to the IS members.
Till present, there is no additional confirmation of the statements of the executed man, except his confession, which could have been made under pressure.
In Raqqah, the militants executed a Russian citizen, an agent of the secret service with call sign "Haroun", Rita Katz, the head of SITE Intelligence Group, wrote in "Twitter".
On September 2, it was reported that IS militants attacked Russian military barracks near the village of Magaramkent in Dagestan. Sources from the law enforcement bodies and local residents did not confirm the information.
