CTO legal regime cancelled in two districts of Dagestan

The special operation carried out in the territories of the Suleiman-Stalsky and Magaramkent Districts of Dagestan has been completed. Three leaders of local militants have been killed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of November 29, the counterterrorist (CTO) legal regime was introduced within the terrain between villages of Ashaga-Stal, Ispik, and Kasumkent. According to law enforcers, in one of the forest areas, they found a grouping of militants, including 30-year-old Robert Melikov, 36-year-old Makhmud Makhmudov, the leaders of the "Suleiman-Stalsky" and "Tabasaran" militant groupings, respectively, and 26-year-old Gasan Mamedyarov. All of them were killed, the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) reports.

An official from the operational headquarters for Dagestan has confirmed that the killed militants were involved in a number of crimes, including extortion of money from entrepreneurs and murders of law enforcers and civilians.

A press officer of the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has reported that a criminal case was opened under two Articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: "Illicit trafficking of weapons and ammunition" and "Attempt on the life of a law enforcer," the "TASS" reports.
