North-Ossetian MIA denies reports about resignation of its Minister

Arthur Akhmetkhanov, Minister of the Internal Affairs for North Ossetia, has written a resignation letter in connection with the case of the death of detained Vladimir Tskaev. This was reported by local media. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has denied the information and noted that the Minister is on a long vacation.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of November 1, 39-year-old Vladimir Tskaev died after interrogation at the Iriston OVD (Interior Division). According to his relatives, he died from torture. Three policemen were detained in the case. Vladimir Tskaev was accused of wounding a policeman; however, later, another resident of Vladikavkaz confessed to the crime.

The "Caucasian Knot" has been informed by a source from the North-Ossetian MIA, Arthur Akhmetkhanov's vacation will last until January 12. His deputy Elbrus Ramonov has been appointed the Acting Minister. The information was confirmed by a staff member of the personnel department of the North-Ossetian MIA.

Arthur Akhmetkhanov has filed a resignation letter in connection with the case of the death of Vladimir Tskaev; however, his request has not been satisfied yet, and the Minister is offered to go on vacation, the "Ossetia.ru" reports.

Arthur Akhmetkhanov, who has been the Minister of the Internal Affairs for North Ossetia since December 2008, has asked to relieve him of his duties of the Minister; meanwhile, he is willing to continue working in the law enforcement bodies of Russia, the "Komsomolskaya Pravda" reports.
