Zhirayr Sefilyan refuses to testify
Zhirayr Sefilyan, an activist of the Front of National Salvation "New Armenia" and the leader of the movement "100 years without regime", has refused to answer investigator's questions on the case of preparing mass disorders in Armenia.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 7, on suspicion of preparing mass riots, Armenian authorities arrested five members of the "Constituent Parliament", including Zhirayr Sefilyan. On May 4, their arrest was replaced by recognizance not to leave. On November 10 it became known that investigators plan to question Zhirayr Sefilyan.
The case opened against the members of "Constituent Parliament" is a political order, Zhirayr Sefilyan said today to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
He added that during today's interrogation, investigators asked him about a dozen questions, but he exercised his right not to testify.
In his opinion, the authorities, "acting in a Soviet-style manner," use the criminal case for exerting psychological pressure on oppositionists.
