Policemen in Stavropol Territory accused of abuse of power

According to investigators, employees of a private security agency at the Interior Department (UVD) of Nevinnomyssk beat up one resident of the city and wounded another one from their service pistols.

During the inquiry it became known that on December 4, 2014, near the cafe "Sputnik", two policemen, with no legitimate reason, "inflicted to a man at least 6 punches and kicks to the head and body and brought him to the police station", the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has reported today.

"On the following day, they drew up an administrative protocol against the man by putting knowingly false information into it," says the message posted on the website of the ICRF.

Besides, on October 5, 2014, one of the above policemen became a figurant of another incident in a highway section in Nevinnomyssk.

"After demanding to stop the Mazda car, which hit him, he illegally fired two shots from his service pistol-submachine gun model PP-2000 in the direction of the said car, inflicting a gunshot wound in the lumbar area to a car passenger," says the website.

The policemen are accused of committing service crimes and causing harm to two men. The criminal case against them with the approved indictment has been transferred to the court.
