Dagestani OMON fighter wounded in CTO in Nalchik

During the special operation carried out by law enforcers in the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, one of the OMON (riot police) fighters was slightly wounded.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 10, in Nalchik, law enforcers blocked a multi-storey building, where, according to their information, Robert Zankishiev, the leader of the local unit of the "Islamic State" (IS), stayed together with his Muslim wife. The woman was wounded, and she was accompanied out of the scene of the special operation. Robert Zankishiev himself was shot dead during the assault of the apartment. At the end of the special operation, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was cancelled.

During the special operation, none of local residents was injured, and one of the OMON (riot police) fighters was slightly wounded, the "Kommersant" reports.

The information on the wounding of the law enforcer has already been confirmed by the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC). It is noted that the wounded law enforcer is a fighter of the Dagestani OMON (riot police).

Robert Zankishiev was on the federal wanted list on suspicion of involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF). According to law enforcers, he was the leader of the Kabardino-Balkarian unit of the "Islamic State" (IS, earlier, ISIL, recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia and a number of other countries, note of the "Caucasian Knot"), and he was well-known under the military nickname of "Abdulla".
