Residents of Buynaksk report on detention of mosque-goers

In Buynaksk, law enforcers conducted detentions of believers of a Salafi mosque and shot into the air, witnesses report. According to them, two persons were detained. Officials from the Buynaksk GOVD (City Interior Division) have reported that no detainees were brought to the GOVD.

The "Caucasian Knot" YouTube channel for readers' feedback has posted a video of the incident in Buynaksk.

On November 6, before the Friday prayer, near the Salafi mosque in Buynaksk located at No. 3 in Makhachkala Highway, a conflict occurred when law enforcers tried to detain mosque-goers. This was reported by a believer, who introduced himself as Magomed.

"Law enforcers tried to detain believers who expressed their indignation about the fact that they were not allowed praying. Other believers tried to defend them. Then, the law enforcers began to shoot into the air. As a result, they detained two believers," Magomed has said.

According to him, during three weeks, law enforcers cordon off the mosque on Fridays.

Another believer, who introduced himself as Akhmed, has reported that the whereabouts of two detained believers remain unknown.

Officials on duty from the Buynaksk GOVD have reported that no detainees were brought to their place.
