In Kizlyar, policeman arrested in Sagid Murtazaliev's case

The court has granted the investigators' request in the Sagid Murtazaliev's case and arrested Magomed Magomedov, a staff member of the Criminal Investigation Department for Kizlyar, suspected of involvement in the assassination of Shevket Kudjaev, Deputy Chief of the Centre for Combating Extremism. He faces life imprisonment.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 3, 2010, Shevket Kudjaev, an officer from the Centre for Combating Extremism of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), was shot and killed by two unidentified persons near his house in Kizlyar.

Magomed Magomedov, a field investigator of the Criminal Investigation Department for Kizlyar of the Dagestani MIA, was detained in the course of the investigation into the case against Sagid Murtazaliev, an MP from the National Assembly of Dagestan, Andrei Vinogradov, the head of the municipal subject "Kizlyar District", and Omar Asadulaev, the press service of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports.

At night of July 27, Andrei Vinogradov, the head of the Kizlyar District, was detained in Dagestan. On July 28, the ICRF reported that Andrei Vinogradov and his relative Sagid Murtazaliev, the head of the Dagestani Office of the Russian Pension Fund, are involved as defendants in the case of several crimes, including the murders, attempted murders, and financing of terrorism. MP Omar Asadulaev is also involved in the criminal case against Andrei Vinogradov and Sagid Murtazaliev. He is put on the international wanted list and arrested in absentia by the court.
