Experts argue about involvement of terrorists in crash of Airbus A321
Russian political analysts have expressed different opinions concerning the new claim of the Egyptian grouping "Vilayat Sinai" on its involvement of the crash of the Airbus A321. According to Georgy Mirsky, the terror act could be an act of revenge for the bombing in Syria. Evgeny Satanovsky believes that Islamists make such claims for self-promotion.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that militants of the "Islamic State" (IS) claimed responsibility for the plane crash. On November 2, the claim was disseminated by supporters of the Egyptian extremist grouping in social network Twitter. On November 3, a top-ranking official from the Pentagon reported that a US infrared satellite recorded a thermal flash over the Sinai Peninsula several seconds prior to the crash of the Airbus A321.
On November 5, the Egyptian unit of the "Islamic State" disseminated in social networks the second claim of responsibility for the plane crash.
Georgy Mirsky, Senior Researcher of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations, believes that a bomb could be transported on board of the Airbus A321. According to him, IS members are "acerbated" and treat Russia as an aggressor and an "accomplice of hostile Western states."
Evgeny Satanovsky, President of the independent Scientific Centre "Institute of the Middle East", notes that the IS may claim involvement in any terror acts.
According to the expert, it is too early for making any conclusions. Evgeny Satanovsky emphasizes the need to wait for the expert evaluation to be made by Russian combat engineers.
