Source: persons suspected of plotting attempt on Ramzan Kadyrov released

No charges were filed against a group of young people from the city of Argun, who, according to the Chechen authorities, were plotting an assassination attempt on Ramzan Kadyrov. This was reported by a source from the law enforcement bodies. According to the source, the imam of one of the mosques is considered to be an ideologist of the above group of young people.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 2, the Chechen State Radio and TV Company (ChSRTC) "Grozny" announced the prevention of an assassination attempt on Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. In front of the TV cameras, Ramzan Kadyrov himself had a conversation with residents of Argun, who, according to him, fell victims to the extremist propaganda.

According to an official of the Chechen law enforcement bodies, 11-18 people were detained, and after the conversation with the leader of Chechnya and theologians, all the detainees were released.

Residents of Chechnya, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, have expressed their doubts about the fact that the young people were actually plotting an assassination attempt on Ramzan Kadyrov.

According to Musa, a member of a local NGO, residents of Argun confirm that after visiting the mosque, the young people were gathering at a boiler room of the mosque and discussed with the Imam the situation in Syria.

The young people were organizing discussions after prayers; however, they did not intend to kill anybody. This was stated by an uncle of one of the detainees. According to him, the statements made by the young people are related to their dissatisfaction with the policies of the Chechen authorities.
