Resident of Dagestan reports on detention of his brother

Rizvan Mataev, a native of the village of Novoselskoe of the Khasavyurt District, is detained by law enforcers. Earlier, he has had a criminal record for aiding and abetting a militant. According to a brother of the detainee, his family members cannot locate him.

Rizvan Mataev, born in 1992, works in Khasavyurt and lives in a rented apartment in the city. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by his brother Ramazan.

According to him, he has appealed to the Khasavyurt OVD (Interior Division); however, they did not confirm the detention of Rizvan Mataev. Earlier, he has had a criminal record for aiding and abetting militants and spent a year in prison serving his sentence.

"Recently, he was released. By the way, he was sentenced for picking up his friend, who was wanted, as it turned out later. My brother is not involved in anything illegal," Ramazan Mataev believes.
