NAC confirms killing of Abdul Nustafaev in Gimry

Abdul Nustafaev, an active member of the "Gimry" criminal grouping, an organizer of the undermining of the Irganai Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP), was killed in the course of the special operation held in the Dagestani village of Gimry. This was reported by the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime has been introduced in the village of Gimry of the Untsukul District. According to a source from the law enforcement bodies, in the course of the special operation, law enforcers blocked a house, and a shootout occurred. As a result, gunfire, a suspected member of the armed underground was killed. He has been preliminary identified as Abdul Nustafaev (earlier, his surname was mentioned as Nustapaev), a 36-year-old local resident, an active member of the armed underground.

According to the NAC, none of law enforcers suffered in the shootout.

"A suspect has been preliminary identified as Abdul Nustafaev, born in 1979, who was on the federal wanted list and who was an active member of the 'Gimry' criminal grouping created by Suleimanov. The suspect was the organizer and the direct executor of the undermining of one of the unit of the Irganai HPP in September 2010. Besides, he was involved in numerous attempts on lives of law enforcers and civilians," the NAC reports as quoted by the "Gazeta.ru".

According to the NAC, in 2015, Abdul Nustafaev swore allegiance to the "Islamic State" (IS), prohibited in Russia and recognized as a terrorist community, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
