Two suspected militants surrender in Dagestan

Gazimagomed Aligadjiev and Gazimagomed Kamilbegov, residents of the village of Gimry, suspected of involvement in the armed underground, were detained after the voluntary surrender to the authorities.

According to one of the local residents, Gazimagomed Aligadjiev and Gazimagomed Kamilbegov voluntarily surrendered on October 19.

"The young guys who apparently succumbed to the influence and committed an act of stupidity by having gone to the forest," a villager of Gimry told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to him, Gazimagomed Kamilbegov is a brother of Ramazan Kamilbegov, who was killed in June.

At night of June 23, a shootout occurred near the village of Gimry in the Untsukul District of Dagestan. As a result, two suspected militants and a soldier were killed. The deceased men were identified as Abdurakhman Abdurakhmanov and Ramazan Kamilbegov from the federal wanted list on suspicion of involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF).

Aliaskhab Magomedov, the head of the village of Gimry, has confirmed the information about the voluntary surrender of Gazimagomed Aligadjiev and Gazimagomed Kamilbegov.

An official from the OVD (Interior Division) has clarified that "according to the operational information, both villagers of Gimry have recently joined the IAF."
