Valery Permyakov faces new charges
Today, the defendant in the case of the murder of the Avetisyan family members has been charged with robbery and an attempt to cross the border between Armenia and Turkey. The defendant has pleaded guilty to the new charges. This was reported by the Investigating Committee of Armenia.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that, according to investigators, Valery Permyakov has confessed that at night of January 12, he killed seven Avetisyan family members in Gyumri. On August 12, Valery Permyakov was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment on the charges of desertion, theft, and illegal possession of weapons.
The investigators have gathered sufficient number of pieces of evidence that the murder of the Avetisyan family members was accompanied by an act of robbery, illegal entry into the house, and looting of their property, and after that, Valery Permyakov tried to illegally cross the state border, the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to the Investigating Committee of Armenia.
Valery Permyakov is charged under Paragraphs 1, 5, and 8 of Part 2 of Article 104, Paragraphs 3 and 4 of Part 2 of Article 175, and Part 1 of Article 34-329 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
Part 2 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (murder of two or more persons committed with particular cruelty of greed, and accompanied with robbery) stipulates the minimum punishment of eight years of imprisonment and the maximum punishment of life imprisonment. Part 2 of Article 175 (robbery committed with illegal entry to housing and use of weapons) stipulates four-eight years of imprisonment, and Part 1 of Article 329 (illegal crossing of the state border of Armenia) up to three years of imprisonment.
