Basmanny Court dismisses Zhanna Nemtsova's complaint about investigators’ inaction

The Basmanny Court of Moscow has found lawful and justified the actions of the investigating authorities in the case of the politician Boris Nemtsov's murder. Thus, Judge Elena Lenskaya has dismissed the complaint filed by the daughter of the killed oppositionist about the inaction of the investigators.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 14, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow considered the complaint filed by Zhanna Nemtsova about the inaction of the investigators in the case of her father's murder. The complaint contains the demand to find unlawful the inaction of the investigators, who "had removed themselves from the identification of instigators and organizers of the Boris Nemtsov's murder." The Court has agreed with the arguments submitted by Vadim Prokhorov, a representative of the victims, who also stated that "Geremeev was to be questioned." Earlier, Zhanna Nemtsova has filed a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) about the ineffective investigation in the case.

"The current laws do not permit interference in the work of the investigating authorities and the decision-making on the operational and search and other investigative actions. The complaint of Zhanna Nemtsova is dismissed," the Judge has pronounced the decision.
