In Rostov-on-Don, ecologist claims being beaten by policemen

Roman Milchenko, a member of the "Green Union", has filed a complaint about being beating by policemen in Rostov-on-Don. According to the police, Roman Milchenko and his brother have attacked law enforcers, and the brothers face prosecution under the article of the use of violence against a public officer.

The "Caucasian Knot" was informed by Natalya Ustimenko, Chief of the Information and Public Relations Division of the Chief Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the Rostov Region, that on October 10, two policemen were injured.

According to Natalya Ustimenko, the attackers were brought to the police department for the Voroshilov District, and protocols of administrative offence were completed against them.

Roman Milchenko describes a different version of the incident. According to him, he and his brother just took part in discussions about illegal dumps on one of the Internet pages, and on October 10, the policemen forced him and his brother out of the apartment, "ten policemen for each brother", and beat them.

According to Roman Milchenko, he has also registered signs of beating on his body at an emergency room and filed a complaint to the police about the illegal actions of the law enforcers. Roman Milchenko has also stated that he and his brother intend to continue environmental activities.
