In Stavropol Territory, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources loses his post after incident with journalists
In the Stavropol Territory, after journalists faced impeding when they were preparing a report on one of the quarries, Alexei Pisarev, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Stavropol Territory, who supervised the operation of those facilities, was dismissed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 21, journalists of the State TV and Radio Company (STRC) "Stavropolye" were attacked while they were preparing a report on mining at a quarry in the Kochubeevskoe District. Criminal proceedings were instituted against two employees of the quarry for obstruction of the lawful professional activities of the journalists. According to the Prosecutor's Office, Limited Liability Company (LLC) "KubanAgroServis", the developer of the quarry, used the subsurface resources without an appropriate license.
The documents on the dismissal of Alexei Pisarev were signed on October 6. His office contract was not renewed at the request of the Governor, the "NewsTracker" reports with reference to Alexei Nos, the head of the press service of the Governor of the Stavropol Territory.
"The Governor has appealed to the Ministry of Natural Resources and noted that the Deputy Minister, supervising the operation of the quarries, is to leave his post because of a series of claims against the activities of the sector," the "NewsTracker" quotes Alexei Nos as stating.
