Residents of Kamensk District of Rostov Region go on hunger strike to protest against activities of local officials
In the village of Gluboky of the Kamensk District of the Rostov Region, after a rally held in front of the administration building, participants of the action declared a hunger strike. They demanded the arrival of investigators and prosecutors from Moscow for carrying out the investigation into the activities of local officials.
On September 27, a rally was held in front of the administration building in the village of Gluboky of the Kamensk District. The participants of the rally demanded the arrival in the Kamensk District of a special commission consisting of officials from the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) and the General Prosecutor's Office.
The protesters have adopted a resolution to describe their demands. In their resolution, they ask the General Prosecutor, the chiefs of the ICRF, the Judicial Department, and the Governor of the Rostov Region the question reading: "Is the Kamensk District is a part of the law-governed state and is there justice in the Kamensk District?"
The rally was attended by several hundred people; all of them voted for the resolution, the portal "donnews.ru" reports. It has been also noted that seven members of the initiative group declared an indefinite hunger strike, which will continue till the commission from Moscow arrives in the Kamensk District.
