In Akhtubinsk, hunger-strikers report deterioration of their health

On September 24, employees of the municipal enterprise (MP) "Akhtuba ATP" (auto transport company), who declared a hunger strike with the demand to pay off their salary debts, did not receive the promised money. According to the city administration, the money to pay off the wage arrears up to June have been transferred to court marshals and will be credited to the account of the enterprise within the next several days.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 21, officials of the local and regional administrations signed the protocol to allocate 5.5 million roubles to pay off the debts. According to the hunger-strikers, on September 24, they were visited by Akhtubinsk Mayor Amanga Naruzbaev. The Mayor has informed the protestors that the additional amount of 1.5 million roubles will be paid during the day.

On September 24, the "Akhtuba ATP" made no even single payment to the workers to settle the wage arrears. This was reported by Alexander Kamanin, the Deputy of the Regional Duma.

According to the Akhtubinsk administration, on September 24, 1.4 million roubles were credited to the court marshals' accounts. An official of the city administration has noted that the money is to settle the wage arrears up to June.

One day earlier, the city administration has allocated 2.45 million roubles in cash and thus settled the wage arrears up to and including March. On the same day, the additional amount of 450,000 roubles was transferred to the court marshals' accounts, the official of the city administration has noted.

According to the hunger-strikers, some of them began to suffer from dizziness, headache, and weakness.
