Supporters of "Veterans’ Party of Russia" hold spontaneous rally in Buynaksk

Participants of the spontaneous rally held in the territory of the aggregate plant in Buynaksk demand to appoint Osman Osmanov, a member of the "Veterans’ Party of Russia", the Mayor of Buynaksk.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 13, on the single day of voting, residents of Buynaksk took part in the elections of deputies to the City Assembly. Observers reported on the low voter turnout in the city, and members of the "Veterans’ Party of Russia" claimed the revelation of seven cases of violations committed during the voting. On the same day, the "Veterans’ Party of Russia" declared its victory at the elections with reference to the preliminary data as at 9:30 p.m. Moscow time. Later, the election commission has published the information, according to which the "Veterans’ Party of Russia" gained 68.8% of votes.

According to the organizers of the rally, the event involves about 2000 people.

"We have got the information that the leaders of Dagestan plan to appoint Abdulmumin Ibragimov, who is now the First Deputy Mayor of Makhachkala, the Mayor of Buynaksk. The Buynaksk authorities want to appoint 'their man' the City Mayor. And this is despite the fact that the 'Veterans’ Party of Russia' gained 68.8% of votes at the elections of deputies to the City Assembly," stated Shamil Khadulaev, a member of the Public Chamber of Dagestan and a member of the" Veterans’ Party of Russia".

Ildar Rezyapov, the leader of the "Veterans’ Party of Russia", also takes part in the protest action.
