Resident of Dagestan arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting militants

In Dagestan, an 18-year-old resident of the Suleiman-Stalsky District is suspected of supplying a member of the armed underground with food, an apartment, and a car. The suspect is taken into custody by the court's decision.

According to investigators, in May 2015, the suspect agreed to aid and abet Kamaldin Kazimagomedov, a member of the terrorist grouping "Southern", who was put on the wanted list for involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF).

"The suspect used to provide Kazimagomedov with food. He also provided the militant with his apartment for accommodation hidden from law enforcers, and he gave him a car for transportation," reported the website of the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) on September 18.

The resident of the Suleiman-Stalsky District is suspected of aiding and abetting a member of an IAF (Part 5 of Article 33 ­ Part 2 of Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the ICRF reports.

The above Article of the Russian Criminal Code stipulates punishment of up to 10 years of imprisonment.
