Laboratory for production of bombs destroyed in Dagestani village

In the area of the village of Maidanskoye, Dagestani law enforcers destroyed a dugout, in which they found an improvised explosive device (IED) and components for manufacturing of IEDs.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that not far from the village of Maidanskoye of the Untsukul District of Dagestan, policemen found remains of a suspected militant. The policemen have revealed that the victim was a 27-year-old resident of the village of Balakhani, who was blown up by his own bomb.

The dugout located 1.5 kilometers from the village of Maidanskoye.

At the dugout, the policemen found a ready-for-use IED with capacity of about 10 kilograms of TNT equivalent and components for manufacturing of IEDs, including mobile phones adjusted for remote controlling of explosions, a car alarm, and submunitions.

According to the Dagestani headquarters of the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), the dugout belonged to members of the Balakhani criminal grouping.
