Levon Airapetyan released from house arrest

The investigation officials have transferred the entrepreneur Levon Airapetyan, who is accused of theft "Bashneft" assets, from house arrest to recognizance not to leave.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Levon Airapetyan was arrested on July 15, 2014. Since October 2014, he has been under house arrest.

Airapetyan is accused of embezzling 700 thousand US dollars from the mother of former senator from Bashkortostan Igor Izmestiev. Initially, investigators stated that the entrepreneur was involved in sale of "Bashneft" assets, as a result of which the company was illegally, according to investigators, driven from under the control of the state.

"Under decision of investigator freedom restriction measure of Levon Airapetyan was changed – from house arrest to recognizance not to leave," said a law enforcement source. According to his version, the decision was taken because the statutory maximum period of house arrest has expired, the TASS reports.
