Picket against election frauds was held by communists in Volgograd
Members of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) gathered near the building of the Volgograd Regional Election Committee (REC) to protest against the election outcomes and stated alleged violations during the election campaign. The REC stated 14 complaints received on the voting day.
The today's communists' protest was attended by about 10 people, said Ekaterina Pechonova, the head of the press service of the Stalingrad regional committee of the CPRF.
"The picket was agreed with the authorities, the application was filed in advance," Ekaterina Pechonova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"Two secretaries of the regional committee were present at the picket. Now, we have no protocols of election violations, but there were calls from observers that in the Oktiabrskiy District seven complaints of violations were filed to the district election commission," said Pechonova.
One of the complaints concerned the fact that at one precinct station there was a list of pensioners. "This fact was registered; and the list was then removed. They called pensioners to increase the voter turnout. It was noticed that before lunch the Oktiabrskiy District had a very low voter turnout, and after lunch it has increased dramatically. This alarmed the members of the regional committee," Ekaterina Pechonova has stressed.
She noted that, as it became known to activists of the CPRF, that in the Kotovskiy District eight complaints were recorded. "One of the complaints states bribery of voters," said Ms Pechonova.
