Court demands from Kadyrov an original of complaint against ban of book with Koran quotations
The City Court of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk has received by e-mail an appeal of legal representatives of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov against the recognition of the book, based on quotations from the Koran, to be extremist. However, the court demands to send, until September 12, the original complaint with Kadyrov's original signature.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 19 the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk City Court found extremism in the book "Prayer (Dua) to Allah, Its Meaning and Place in Islam", which consists of translations of ayats (verses) from the Koran and sayings attributed to the Prophet Muhammad. On September 9, Ramzan Kadyrov declared preparation of a complaint against the above court decision. On the same day Kadyrov's lawyers sent their complaint to the court.
The electronic version of the complaint reached the court late in the evening on September 10, said a source from the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk City Court. After a check of its procedural acceptability and in case of its compliance with the law, it will be transferred to the parties of the trial "for their knowledge and possible objections," the "Interfax" has reported.
As stated by Alexander Chukhray, the Chairman of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk City Court, despite the fact that the electronic version has been accepted by the court, the original complaint with the original signature of the applicant and his proxy shall also be submitted. According to his story, if the original fails to come before September 12, the deadline for filing a complaint, "an appropriate decision will be made," the RIA "Novosti" reports.
