NAC: man killed in Dagestan was active member of "Makhachkala" grouping

The backpack of the man, who opened fire on power agents in the Buynaksk District of Dagestan and who was killed by return fire, contained camouflage uniform and a silencer. This was reported by the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC). According to the NAC, the killed man was a member of the "Makhachkala" grouping of the armed underground.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the evening of September 7, a shootout occurred in the Buynaksk District. As a result, one person was killed. At the place of the shootout, law enforcers found a pistol, empty cartridge cases, and a backpack with food and medicines, reports a source in the law enforcement bodies.

The shootout occurred in the area of the abandoned agricultural farm "Gayvanli" at the 18th kilometre of the road Makhachkala-Buynaksk. Law enforcers were inspecting the farm, when they came under fire, the NAC reports.

According to the NAC, the backpack of the killed man also contained a device for silent shooting and camouflage uniform. Power agents revealed that the killed man was an active member of the "Makhachkala" militant grouping; although, he has not been identified yet.
