Operative headquarters regulates traffic jams in Kerch port

Kerch is still under emergency regime because of the large accumulation of vehicles in the port. The operational headquarters is engaged in regulation of traffic. According to tourists, people in the cars have to wait during 9-10 hours for loading onto ferries towards Taman.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 22, a state of emergency was introduced in Kerch because of the difficult situation at the crossing of the Kerch Strait. Vehicles travelling from Crimea had to wait during 8-10 hours for loading onto ferries.

In the morning of August 25, the line to the terminal "Crimea" of the Kerch port stretched for several kilometres and reached the outskirts of Kerch, an official of the city council reported. According to him, the operational headquarters has been created to monitor the situation and is engaged in transportation of drinking water and food to the crossing of the Kerch Strait.

According to Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) "Morskaya Direktsiya" (Marine Directorate), the crisis situation in the port of Crimea connected with the mass departure of tourists from the Crimea peninsula is to continue until about September 10.

According to truckers, some of them have been already spending the third day in line for the loading onto ferries.

The tourists travelling by cars also complain about long lines for ferry loading. However, they point out that the electronic ticket line is moving much faster.

Let us remind you that in early August, the tourists have reported that the situation at the crossing of the Kerch Strait had generally improved and that the lines to ferries had reduced and become more comfortable than the previous year.
