Court leaves Anzor Gubashev in custody until November 28

Today, the Basmanny Court of Moscow has granted the investigators' motion to extend the arrest of the figurant in the case of the Boris Nemtsov's murder for other three months.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 24, the court left Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, Shagid Gubashev, and Khamzat Bakhaev in custody until November 28.

"The investigation period has been extended because of the complexity of the case, and therefore, we ask the court to extend the period of detention of defendant Gubashev," the investigator stated at the trial. According to the investigator, Shagid Gubashev "may escape from investigators, destroy the evidence and put pressure on witnesses."

Shagid Gubashev himself has claimed at the trial that he "testified under pressure" and asked to elect a pre-trial restriction measure to him, not related to the arrest.

Advocate Musa Khadisov has also objected to the extension of the arrest of his client.

However, Judge Natalia Dudar agreed with the position of the investigators and pronounced a decision to extend the period of detention of Anzor Gubashev in custody until November 28.
