CTO regime introduced in district of Makhachkala

Today, a district of Makhachkala was put under the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime in connection with a search for militants there.

The CTO regime was introduced within the boundaries of the Leninsky District of the capital of Dagestan, said the spokesman of the republic’s operative, confirming that the aim is to search for militants, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

"The operations are conducted in several neighbourhoods of the district; and they involve the units of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the FSB Department, and other forces," the RIA "Dagestan" quotes its source from the headquarters as saying.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 18 the CTO regime was introduced in the Tabasaran, Khiv and Suleiman Stalsky Districts of Dagestan. Power agents are looking for militants there.
