Three persons killed in shootout in Dagestan
On the border of the Derbent and Tabasaran Districts in Dagestan, unidentified persons have initiated a shootout with policemen. As a result, three persons were killed. No law enforcer suffered.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the incident occurred on August 19, at about 10:30 p.m., when policemen tried to stop a passenger car for inspection.
People from the car opened fire on the policemen, and as a result of the shootout, the attackers were killed. During the shootout, the car of the killed attackers caught fire, the "Interfax-South" reports with reference to the press service of the MIA for Dagestan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that at 8:00 p.m. of August 18, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in three mountainous districts of Dagestan, including the Tabasaran District. 129,000 people live in the territory of the above three districts covered by the CTO regime.
