Investigators link murder of district policeman in Makhachkala with his work

Officials of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) hope to pick up the trail of the criminals while inspecting the car abandoned by alleged killers of the district policeman Shamil Abdurakhmanov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning on August 17 in the village of Novy Khushet, Leninsky District of Makhachkala, Shamil Abdurakhmanov, 40, a senior district policeman was shot dead.

On the same day, the car of the alleged killers was found on the highway Makhachkala-Kaspiysk.

"Investigators are making every effort to identify the culprits who killed the policeman," Rasul Temirbekov, the Senior Assistant for Interaction with Media to the Head of the Investigating Department, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Mr Temirbekov has added that the basic version associates the murder with the policeman's service activities. Rather, he said, he was killed for "his legitimate work to counteract offenses."

Employees of the local Investigating Department of the ICRF believe that the above car, in which the criminals fled, may help investigators to pick up the trail of the killers.
