Dagestani resident accused of involvement in armed underground

The investigating authorities have completed the investigation into the case against a 21-year resident of the Kizilyurt District of Dagestan, accused of involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF).

According to the investigators, the defendant joined a "Kizilyurt" terrorist grouping in October 2014. He used to inform the militants about the movements of law enforcers and soldiers in the village of Nechaevka of the Kizilyurt District, the investigators report.

In February 2015, the defendant was detained after the law enforcers and soldiers held the special operation, in which Oleg Shalyapin, the leader of the "Kizilyurt" terrorist grouping, and four other active militants were killed.

At present, the defendant's case has been brought to the court for consideration on the merits, the website of the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports.
