NAC states preparation of terror acts in Nalchik
The militants killed in Nalchik had been preparing attempts on state officials of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) has reported.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced at 3:00 a.m. in the area within Lenin Avenue and Kuashev, Rybalko, Schors Kabardinskaya and Tolstoy Streets. According to the NAC, in the course of the CTO, six persons were killed, namely, Sultan Abshaev, Marat Dotkulov, Amir Kazberigev, brothers Murat and Aslan Bogotov, and the owner of the blocked apartment. Later, security services established links of the casualties with the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS).
"It has been established that in the near future the criminals planned to commit a series of subversive and terror acts, including killings of state officials during the festive events dedicated to the Day of the Republic," the TASS quotes its source from the NAC's Information Centre.
According to power agents, Sultan Abshaev, who was identified as the militants' leader, was engaged in recruiting terrorists, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
