Dagestan: power agents were shelled while trying to inspect a car

The law enforcers, who were shelled today in the Derbent District of Dagestan, tried to stop a car for inspection. Two men in the car were killed by return fire, the Chief Department for the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has confirmed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that last night in the outskirt of the village of Gedjukh, two men were killed, who opened fire at power agents from a Lexus car.

Employees of the above Chief Department were conducting, jointly with their colleagues from other law enforcement bodies of Dagestan, their operative-search activities in the Derbent District of the republic.

They attempted to stop the above Lexus car for inspection, but the men opened fire from inside. They were shot dead by return fire. None of the law enforcers was killed or wounded, says the website of the Chief Department for the NCFD of the Russian MIA.

Let us note here that on July 3 the city of Derbent and the Derbent District were put under the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime.
