Resident of Izberbash complains about deductions from his pension in favour of gas suppliers
According to the court judgement, deductions are made from the pension of Mirzamagomed Lukmanov, a resident of Izberbash and a category II invalid, to repay a large debt to gas-supplying companies. The pensioner himself states that he had regularly paid the bills; and his advocate is preparing an application for a retrial of the case.
According to Lukmanov, he is carefully paying for all utilities, but five years ago he began receiving notifications about his debt for the delivered natural gas.
On June 6, 2014, the magistrate court of Izberbash ruled in absentia to satisfy the claim of gas suppliers. The pensioner learned about it from a court marshal, when the ruling had already entered into force.
The resident of Izberbash, in his words, addressed an advocate, who wrote an appeal complaint; however, the court refused to restore the procedural term and rejected the complaint, stating that "plenty of similar claims" are at consideration at the Izberbash court.
The information about a plurality of claims directed to honest payers was confirmed by Kazikhan Kurbanov, a member of the Anti-Corruption Council of the Tabasaran District.
"Thefts in the gas sector are measured in billions... Gas companies have many schemes of how to deceive the consumer," said Kurbanov.
