Indictment to Kizilyurt policemen approved
The case of five employees of the Kizilyurt ROVD (District Interior Division) of Dagestan, which was earlier returned by the court to the prosecutor's office, is ready for sending to the North-Caucasian District Military Court for consideration on the merits.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Askhabali Zairbekov, the boss of the above ROVD, and his subordinates Gaziyav Djamaludinov, Makhmud Khaibulaev, Magomed Piraev and Abdulmuslim Magomedov were accused of banditry, robbery, hostage-taking, embezzlement and illicit arms circulation. On March 20, the Supreme Court of Dagestan returned the case to the Prosecutor's Office. The defence of the accused said that there were violations in running the case.
The Prosecutor's Office has approved the indictment, according to which in May 2012 Khaibulaev, then being an employee of the Kizilyurt ROVD, and Djamaludinov created a grouping, which included Magomedov, policeman Piraev and others. In August of the same year, they attacked three citizens of the republic and stole from them over 43 million roubles and firearms, the Office reports.
The attack was committed in February 2013. Then, they stole from local residents over 33 million roubles. Zairbekov, who was then the boss of the Kizilyurt ROVD, was helping to commit the crime (Zairbekov was detained on February 23, 2014, in Moscow, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"), reports the website of the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan.
