Residents of Chechnya report detention of relative by law enforcers
Rasul M., born in 1970, a resident of the village of Novoe Solkusheno, Naur District of Chechnya, who was considered kidnapped, has returned home.
The information about his kidnapping was spread in the messenger WhatsApp on July 7. According to the messages, Rasul M. "was kidnapped on July 7 at 7:30 a.m. by unidentified armed men in military camouflage uniform," but neither law enforcers, nor rights defenders would not help his relatives to search for the kidnapped person. On the second day after kidnapping, he was released, his relative told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"This is a very difficult subject to discuss. As it turned out, militaries had some information that he was involved in something, but it was not confirmed; and they let him go home on the following day," said the relative of Rasul M.
He did not specify who the kidnappers were, and whether a criminal case was opened against Rasul M. or on his kidnapping.
