Advocate of Nemtsov family calls on for international investigation into the murder

Delegates of the congress of the "RPR-Parnassus" Party have adopted a statement on the need for an international investigation into the murder of Boris Nemtsov, the co-Chairman of the Party. The adoption of the statement was initiated by Vadim Prokhorov, advocate of the Nemtsov family, and Ilya Yashin, member of the political council of the Party.

Boris Nemtsov was killed in Moscow on February 27. Five persons, including Zaur Dadaev, Anzor and Shagid Gubashev, Khamzat Bakhaev and Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, were detained on suspicion of involvement in the murder and put under arrest.

"Given the difficult situation and the fact that the investigation is virtually deadlocked, it is necessary to start an international investigation into the murder of Boris Nemtsov," said advocate Vadim Prokhorov, representing the interests of the Nemtsov's children. According to the advocate, there are mechanisms that allow initiating an investigation within one of the international organizations. When speaking of such international organizations, Vadim Prokhorov has mentioned the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the UN, and the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), the "Kommersant" reports.

Vadim Prokhorov was supported by Ilya Yashin, who said that the investigators are short of political will and the power necessary to completely investigate the murder of Boris Nemtsov. "All of us can say with confidence that the traces of the crime lead not to Ukraine and not to the Moon. They lead to Grozny. Therefore, the questioning of Ramzan Kadyrov is a key requirement for the investigation into the murder," Ilya Yashin has said.
