NAC suspects men killed in Kizilyurt District of involvement in attacks on Imams and preparation of terror acts
Two men killed in the Kizilyurt District of Dagestan were involved in the murders of two Imams of rural mosques in Dagestan and the attack on members of the family of Salimgereev, the former chief of the Kizilyurt GOVD (City Interior Division). This was stated by the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the course of the counterterrorist operation (CTO) carried out in the Kizilyurt District on July 3, two suspected active members of the Kizilyurt grouping were killed. A fighter of the special unit of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) was also killed. The killed suspects have been preliminary identified; however, the information about the suspected militants has not been disclosed.
The NAC has only reported on their involvement in a number of crimes. According to the NAC, in April 2014, the suspected members of the Kizilyurt grouping killed the Imam of the rural mosque in the Kizilyurt District, and in May, they killed the Imam of the mosque of the village of Stalskoe of the Buynaksk District of Dagestan. Then, they shot and killed two men in the village of Novy Chirkey, the "TASS" reports with reference to the NAC.
According to the NAC, in July 2014, in a private house on the outskirts of Kizilyurt, the suspected militants attacked members of the family of Salimgereev, the former chief of the Kizilyurt GOVD and tied his son. After that, they set an ambush, waiting for the house owner, and killed him.
