MiG-29 crashes in Krasnodar Territory

A fighter aircraft MiG-29 has crashed down near the aerodrome Kuschevskaya in the Krasnodar Territory. There are no victims and no damage.

"Today, at 2:37 p.m. Moscow time, in the vicinity of aerodrome Kuschevskaya, Krasnodar Territory, during a routine training flight, a MiG-29 crashed down," the press service of the Russia's Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported, adding that the pilot managed to eject and was already evacuated.

According to the MoD, the aircraft crashed into uninhabited area.

The MiG-29 was piloted by Major-General Alexander Berzan, the Chief of Aviation Safety of the Russian Armed Forces, said a source from local power bodies. According to his story, according to preliminary data, the accident was caused by a technical malfunction, the "Interfax" reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 4, during a training flight near the Ashuluk Range, located in the Astrakhan Region, another MiG-29 crashed down. Then, the MoD stated that both pilots ejected and were safe. The probable cause of the accident was also treated as a technical failure.
