Residents of Akatsij Street in Sochi report no help after flooding
For four days No. 5A in Akatsij Street in Sochi is in the flooding area; however, the authorities render no help to tenants. As stated by the deputy head of the Adler District, they are unable to help all those affected by the flooding.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 25 Sochi was affected by a strong flooding, which damaged hundreds of houses. Today, Victor Filonov, the first deputy mayor of the resort city, said that water has been pumped out of all the flooded houses.
The highway M-27 built during the preparation for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi blocked the entrance and the passage to the above No. 5A in Akatsij Street. On September 25, 2013, the Adler District Court obliged the contractor – the Road Department "Chernomorye" – to eliminate the obstacles. The court's ruling has not yet been fulfilled.
Now, the above No. 5A is in such condition that it is flooded even with by small rains, said the tenants. According to their story, the authorities render them no help, and only offer to move to their relatives for a while. The highway was lifted by backfilling so that the house is now in a pit.
As reported by Vladimir Kochubey, the acting deputy head of the Adler District, now all the efforts of the district are aimed at helping residents of the settlement of "Mirny", which is strongly flooded.
Let us remind you that Veniamin Kondratiev, the Acting Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, has treated the poor work of the Sochi rainfall drainage system as the reason of flooding and promised to conduct a check of spending and the quality of construction of the system.
