Law enforcers report on identification of two suspected militants in Kabardino-Balkaria

Relatives have identified the men killed in a special operation carried out in the vicinity of the village of Atazhukino as Rustam Kodzokov and Asker Khatkov. This was reported by a source in the law enforcement bodies.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 5, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in a part of the territory of the Baksan District. Not fat from the village of Atazhukino, two persons were killed in a shootout. According to law enforcers, they initiated opening of fire. The law enforcers found a dugout at the place of the armed clash.

According to the source in the law enforcement bodies, "the deceased men were identified by their relatives as Rustam Kodzokov, a 33-year-old resident of the city of Nalchik, and Asker Khatkov, a 26-year-old resident of the village of Baksanyonok. Their bodies were given out to their relatives for burial."

The killed men "were members of the north-eastern sector of the Kabardino-Balkarian armed underground", and they were not included in the wanted list, the source in the law enforcement bodies reports.
