Mother of Makhachkala resident Murad Abdulmuslimov claims illegal detention of her son
Murad Abdulmuslimov, a resident of Makhachkala, whose relatives claimed his possible kidnapping, was detained on suspicion of illegal possession of drugs. At present, he is being kept at the SIZO (pre-trial prison). This has been reported by his mother. The woman believes that her son's rights were violated during his detention.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that according to the relatives of Murad Abdulmuslimov, on May 22, in front of eyewitnesses, unidentified persons forced him into their car, and since then, none of the family members of Murad Abdulmuslimov was aware of his fate. Officials from the Makhachkala GOVD (City Interior Division) denied the fact of the detention of Murad Abdulmuslimov.
On June 10, Aishat, the mother of Murad Abdulmuslimov, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that her son was detained on suspicion of drug possession. "Meanwhile, law enforcers found the drugs not during the detention, when they searched him, but only when my son was brought to the Federal Drug Control Service. I do not believe that my son may have something common with these drugs," the woman has claimed.
According to her, the eyewitnesses shot the detention on video. "I've managed to watch this video only several days later. It's a terrible scene: in front of people, my son is beaten and forced into a car," Aishat Abdulmuslimova said.
The woman has clarified that at present, her son is being kept in custody at the SIZO-1 of Makhachkala. No formal charges have been filed against him yet.
