In Azerbaijan, oppositionist Enver Guseinli arrested for 30 days
Today, the court has sentenced Enver Guseinli, an activist of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), to 30 days of administrative arrest for charge of disobeying police.
In the evening of June 8, Enver Guseinli, the leader of the Saatli district branch of the Youth Committee of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), was detained. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Ziyafet Guseinli, the activist's father, a member of the PFPA. According to him, Enver Guseinli was detained in the street and brought to the district police department.
"A district police inspector has said that Enver allegedly used foul language in a public place. Today, Enver has been brought to the court. All of us, including family members or activists of our party, were not allowed attending the trial. As a result of the trial held behind closed doors, Enver was sentenced to 30 days of administrative arrest for alleged disobedience to police," Ziyafet Guseinli has stated.
"It is clear that Enver was sentenced on false charge. He led the local Youth Committee of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, and he was active in Facebook," Ziyafet Guseinli has said. The farther of the oppositionist has emphasized that they will file an appeal against the court's decision.
