Ingush leader threatens to close Nasyr-Kort mosque
The Ingush authorities have urged parties to the conflict at the mosque in Nasyr-Kort to forgive each other. Otherwise, officials promise to close the mosque.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 4 and 5, in Ingushetia, a conflict occurred between mosque-goers in the village of Nasyr-Kort. According to law enforcers, no one suffered in the conflict.
"A mosque is not a place for a showdown and solution of urgent domestic problems. A mosque is a place where every mosque-goer comes to fulfil obligations to Allah. I spoke separately to both parties to the conflict and urged them to forgive each other. Otherwise, being a guarantor of security in the region, I will have to temporary close the mosque in order to prevent the escalation of the conflict," stated Ingush leader Yunus-Bek Evkurov at the today's joint meeting of the antiterrorist commission and operational headquarters held in Magas.
The Ingush leader has instructed staff members of the Security Council to carry out monitoring of social networks, where numerous video records showing faces of the offenders appeared after the conflict at the mosque. "All those young people and their parents should be invited for a preventive meeting, and the Council of Teips and law enforcers should also be invited to the meeting. The rioters should understand that sooner or later they will be punished for the offences committed," the "Interfax" quotes the Ingush leader as stating.
