Beaten Sochi Vice-Mayor Evgeny Gorlov files complaint to police
On June 6, Evgeny Gorlov, the Vice-Mayor of Sochi, was brought with brain concussion to the city hospital No. 4 after an attack of a local resident. The Vice-Mayor has filed a complaint about his beating to the police of the city.
The Mayor's Office has reported that the incident occurred when Evgeny Gorlov as a member of commission was verifying the connection of houses to the centralized sewerage system.
According to Evgeny Gorlov, in Molodogvardeyskaya Street, there are apartment buildings, which have no local treatment facilities and which are not connected to the city sewerage system.
"All discharges of those houses fall into the Vereschaginsky Creek, which flows to the beach of the 'Zhemchuzhina' (Pearl) Hotel. The hotel accommodates participants of the festival 'Kinotavr'. And it is unacceptable to let faecal waters flow directly into the sea during such a holiday as the festival," Evgeny Gorlov has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to Evgeny Gorlov, the officials' visit to Molodogvardeyskaya Street had the purpose "to disconnect sewage runoff of the apartment buildings."
"I wanted to show where the sewage runoff should be disconnected and went to a hatch. The man (the man, who attacked the official, note of the 'Caucasian Knot') was going behind me. I did not expect him to attack me, but he hit me on my head. At the hospital, I was examined and hospitalized with diagnose of closed traumatic brain injury".
The Vice-Mayor has added that he does not know whether the person, who attacked him during the raid, was detained.
