KBR residents detained at checkpoint "Verkhniy Lars" released
Two young men, who were detained at night on June 2, at the border checkpoint "Verkhniy Lars", and who were on the way, as reported by special services, to Syria aiming to take part in the war on the side of the "Islamic State", today have been sent home, a law enforcement source told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in North Ossetia border guards detained two residents of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, who tried, under the pretext of spending their holidays in Turkey, to reach Syria and join the ranks of the "Islamic State" (recognized as a terrorist organization in several countries, including Russia).
At the moment, the detainees are at large, a law enforcement source told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today. He explained that the actions of the two young men cannot be qualified as a violation of the law, since they could not carry out their intentions. The young men are residents of the Baksan District of the KBR, one of them is a student of the KBSU; the other is unemployed.
Law enforcers have found that the young men's intention to join the jihad appeared after their communication in social networks with some people from Turkey.
