Grozny resident suspected of transferring money to militants

Law enforcers have detained a resident of Grozny on suspicion of aiding members of illegal armed formations (IAFs).

A 30-year-old man was detained on June 1 at home, during an inspection conducted by law enforcers based on their operative data, said a source from the republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). According to a police source, the suspect has confessed that two years ago he passed money to IAF members.

"A check is now underway of this fact," said the source, noting that the man was released under recognizance not to leave; and the issue of his criminal prosecution is considered.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported also that on May 27, in the village of Gvardeiskoe of the Nadterechny District, policemen detained two men, aged 30 and 31, suspected of aiding IAF members.
