Baku residents hold rally under slogan "Let's save ourselves!"

The Yasamal District of Baku hosted a rally sanctioned by the authorities. Protestors demanded to compensate losses from inflation, release political prisoners, and punish the persons responsible for the fire, which occurred on May 19.

The action organized by the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) was held under the slogan "Let's save ourselves!"

The protesters were holding posters reading: "Expensive Games (Baku European Games 2015, – note of the 'Caucasian Knot') for cheap power", "Flammable power", "The state is not the patrimony of officials!", and "Freedom of justice!" Besides, the protestors raised portraits of the political prisoners and the flags of Azerbaijan and the European Union, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Baku residents involved in the protest action demanded to compensate to the population the losses caused by the devaluation of the national currency. Besides, the protesters also demanded to eradicate corruption, release political prisoners, and punish the persons responsible for the fire, which occurred in a multi-storey building in the Binagadi District of Baku on May 19.
